MONASTERIO, A BELMOND HOTEL

Calle Plazoleta Nazarenas 337 - - CUSC CUSC (PE)

Overview

This hotel is without doubt the best hotel in Cusco and arguably in the whole of Peru itself. It has three open courtyards all of which have very well kept gardens and stone arches surrounding the gardens in typical monastery style.

Our Rooms

Half the rooms are medium in size and half are large and all are in very good condition as are the bathrooms. With the hotel being a converted monastery all the rooms vary slightly in style and size. The rooms are also deluxe throughout with all the services and facilities associated with a deluxe property and with modern furnishings with a distinctly traditional theme.

Our Restaurant

The hotel boasts two monasteries, the first is a dimly lit light dinner area on the ground floor serving international cuisine. The second, which is also used as the breakfast room is again monastery style with long stone arches and serves local and international cuisine of the highest standard. In the morning soft monastery style music is played whilst breakfast is being served.

Our Exterior

The hotel is, as its name suggests, a converted monastery dating back to 1595.

Our Lobby

The lobby is small and traditional in style. Adjacent to the lobby is a large lounge area with an open fireplace with traditional furnishings, antique rugs, Peruvian sculptures and oil paintings. For those suffering from altitude sickness there is also a place to take oxygen. In keeping with the name and reputation of the hotel it is of the highest standard throughout.
